Overview
We are seeking a
Data Scientist with strong expertise in machine learning, NLP, and generative AI for a contract role based in Reston, VA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern AI/ML tools and cloud platforms, and the ability to develop and deploy advanced models to solve business problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and fine-tune ML/NLP models using Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn
- Work with LLMs (GPT, Claude, LLaMA) and frameworks like LangChain, RAG, LoRA, PEFT
- Develop AI agents using agentic programming concepts
- Process and analyze structured and unstructured data, including text and images
- Utilize AWS (SageMaker, Redshift, EMR), Spark, and SQL for data processing and model deployment
- Present insights using tools like Tableau, Quicksight, or Kibana
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in ML, NLP, and deep learning
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud environments (preferably AWS)
- Experience with image models (e.g., ResNet, CLIP), vector DBs, and knowledge graphs
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and Agile methodologies
