Data & Analytics Intern
Hyundai AutoEver America's HQ (Fountain Valley or Costa Mesa, depending on business unit) will be running a 12-week internship program from 06/24/2025 to 09/12/2025. Interns will be expected to work anywhere between 20 - 24 hours a week, not to exceed 30 hours a week.
Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data & Analytics Intern to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment where data is central to decision-making and business growth.
The ideal candidate will support our data initiatives, contribute to analytics-driven insights, and work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business unit teams. This internship will provide real-world exposure to enterprise data systems, cloud-based platforms, and agile project execution.
Essential Functions
- Assist in designing querying, and managing large datasets for business reporting and decision support
- Support the development of dashboards, visualizations, and data models to identify trends and performance metrics
- Draft and participate in sprint planning, user story enhancement scoping, and user requirements definition
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to clean, transform, and enrich datasets
- Create documentation for data pipelines, systems, and governance policies
- Work in tools such as Jira to track tasks, bugs, and development priorities
- Support adhoc analysis and special projects across teams

Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of SQL (advanced queries, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning)
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and working in Jira or similar tools
- Knowledge of at least one cloud platform, with preference for AWS full stack (Redshift, Lambda, S3, Glue, etc.)
- Exposure to relational databases (e.g., Oracle) and NoSQL Systems (e.g., MongoDB)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
- Familiarity with Python, R, or other data scripting languages
- Understanding of data governance, metadata, or master data management concepts
