Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

East 57th Street Partners is pleased to represent one of our esteemed private equity-backed clients in the search for a results-driven and highly strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO). This executive leadership role is ideal for an experienced operator who excels at scaling businesses, driving operational excellence, and building high-performing teams in dynamic, growth-oriented environments.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the COO will be responsible for leading the company’s day-to-day operations while executing on long-term strategic initiatives. The COO will serve as a key member of the executive team and will be instrumental in ensuring operational efficiency, delivering exceptional customer outcomes, and achieving scalable and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Operations Leadership:
- Design and implement operational strategies that support the company’s growth objectives and long-term vision.
- Cross-Functional Oversight:
- Lead and oversee core operational functions, including supply chain, manufacturing/production, logistics, and customer service, ensuring excellence in performance and execution.
- Team Development & Performance Management:
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify and implement best practices and process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Technology & Transformation:
- Leverage digital tools and data-driven decision-making to modernize operations and improve agility across the enterprise.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory, legal, and corporate governance requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with the executive team to align operations with company-wide goals. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and strategic partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in senior operational roles, ideally within a growth-stage or PE-backed environment.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and scaling operations in complex or multi-site businesses.
- Strong strategic planning, execution, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead through change and implement transformation initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
- High level of business acumen with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
